Benfica believes in more! Not just on the field, but off it as well. The club’s social foundation, Vitesse Betrokken, is dedicated every day to promoting a healthy lifestyle, social development, and community involvement. To this end, the foundation harnesses the power of soccer: to share emotions, bring people together, and encourage physical activity.

Active in the Region

The Benfica Foundation is very active in the region on a socioeconomic level. The foundation aims to make the perfect pass, so that everyone has the opportunity to score. The ultimate goal is to improve the living conditions of individuals, groups, or neighborhoods. The foundation is also committed to creating, maintaining, and strengthening—based on mutual engagement—the connection between (potential) Benfica fans and Benfica.

Vision

The Benfica Foundation believes in growth: today lays the foundation for tomorrow. This applies to young and old, men and women alike. The foundation is there for everyone. A lifelong commitment. With this in mind, the foundation offers structured programs for all age groups. Within each age group, specific themes are addressed, in line with current developments and needs.
Based on different themes, Betrokken strives to be socially relevant. Each target group, in fact, has different needs.

For children aged 0 to 12, the focus is primarily on a healthy lifestyle. For the target group of young people aged 12 to 18, the theme is once again being active together. For young adults aged 18 to 35, participation in society is once again very important. For adults aged 35 to 65, the focus is primarily on vitality. Among older adults, social engagement is once again important.
